Watermain work will be done on four Belleville streets.
At its meeting on Monday, City Council will be asked to approve a tender from Trisan Construction for watermain relining on Charles, Emily, Saint Paul and George streets at a cost of $1.5 million plus HST.
The work involves the provision of temporary water lines and the cleaning and relining of the existing watermains.
These residential street areas have older small diameter cast iron watermains that were installed between 1888 and 1946.
Relining the watermains will improve the aesthetic and quality of the drinking water and extend the useful asset lifecycle by upwards of 40 years.
Funds for the project were previously approved in the 2023 Capital Budget.
Belleville Council meets Monday at 4 p.m. at City Hall.
