Belleville police say a traffic stop led to further charges on Friday.
A Belleville Police Service officer pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation on Baldwin Street just before 11 p.m. on Friday.
The male driver did not have identification and provided police with a fake name.
Further investigation found that the vehicle licence plates were not authorized and the man was actually a suspended driver with two warrants from other police services.
The man was arrested and charged with driving while suspended and using plates not authorized.
He was released to other services which held the warrants for him.
The man was provided a court date of September 11, 2023 for the Highway Traffic Act offences.
