Prince Edward County OPP have laid numerous charges against an individual including fraud.
OPP say they received a report in October 2022 of fraud resulting in a loss of over $100,000 and began an investigation looking into conduct that spanned several years.
With the help of the Prince Edward County Crime Unit, one person was arrested and charged in relation to the ongoing fraud investigation.
Sixty-four-year-old Carol Ryan of Prince Edward County was charged with the following:
- Fraud over $5000
- Theft over $5000
- Criminal breach of trust
- Forgery
- Mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property
The accused was released from custody and is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on August 16.
