UPDATE: 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 18
A temporary fix is in leading to water flowing again for residents in the northwest area of Trenton and Murray Ward late Tuesday afternoon but they will remain under a boil water advisory until Public Health deems otherwise.
A water main break late Monday resulted in a boil water advisory for all Trenton Water Service customers west of the Trent River.
The advisory extended to residents living in the Carrying Place area and in Consecon.
For repairs to be made to the water main which crosses the river in Trenton, the water had to be completely shut off for customers in northwest Trenton and Murray Ward.
A temporary repair is now in place with plans for a permanent repair expected to be announced on Wednesday.
Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison says they are bringing things back online slowly so no more damage is caused.
But again, the boil water advisory will remain in effect until Public Health gives the all clear.
Drinking water, washrooms, and showers are available at the Duncan MacDonald Community Centre until 11 p.m.
