Belleville City Council will be asked to accept a tender for watermain replacement and road reconstruction on Murney and Henry streets at its meeting on Monday.
City staff recommend council accept the lowest tender of $4.7 million, including HST, from Cobourg Development Services.
Reconstruction includes:
Murney Street (from Moira Street West to Catharine Street)
• Replacement of the existing watermain and the existing water services
• Replacement of the existing sanitary sewer main and the existing sanitary services
• Installation of a new storm sewer main
• Complete road reconstruction with new concrete curb and gutter, new concrete
sidewalk and new asphalt road surface
Henry Street (from Murney Street to Cedar Street)
• Replacement of the existing sanitary sewer main and the existing sanitary services
• Replacement of the existing storm sewer main
• Complete road reconstruction with new concrete curb and gutter, new concrete
sidewalk and new asphalt road surface
In preparation for the road reconstruction work, Enbridge Gas has already relocated the
existing gas main within the project area. Three Elexicon-owned utility poles on Henry Street were also relocated.
Construction is planned in two phases over the next two construction seasons:
• 2023 construction: North end of Murney Street (from Moira Street West to Henry Street)
and Henry Street (from Murney Street to Cedar Street)
• 2024 construction: South end of Murney Street (from Henry Street to Catharine Street)
