Charges have been laid against a 25-year-old man after multiple people, including police officers were assaulted in Quinte West.
Quinte West OPP responded to a report of people being assaulted at a Dundas Street East business in Trenton around 9:30 Tuesday morning.
The accused fled the area prior to police arrival but was located a short distance away.
Officers were assaulted during their interaction with the accused and were forced to deploy a conducted energy weapon to execute the arrest.
Daniel McDonell of Quinte West faces charges of:
Assault
Assault with a weapon
Assault a peace officer with a weapon
Assault with intent to resist arrest
Mischief – destroy or damage property
Fail to comply with release order – three counts
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
