A 51-year-old man is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing Friday following an incident in downtown Belleville.
Police were called around 6:30 Thursday evening after a man armed with a knife allegedly chased after a woman.
The suspect was arrested following a brief foot chase.
The accused, who has not been identified, faces charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, uttering death threats, and two counts of breach of probation.
