Prince Edward County OPP are again reminding people to be vigilant after someone fell victim to a scam, this one involving puppies.
The incident was reported to police on June 10.
The victim reported attempting to purchase a puppy through an online social media platform.
They sent $1,300 and later learned there were no puppies for sale.
Police say you should always conduct research and confirm the legitimacy of organizations or transactions before buying online and to remember that legitimate agencies will never pressure you for information over the phone or demand money immediately.
