The City of Belleville is holding a Naturalized Yards Public Information Centre this evening (June 15).
Officials are looking to gain feedback on a proposed by-law amendment that would allow residents to have naturalized areas in their yards.
Naturalization involves turning a cultivated landscape, such as a lawn, into a more natural landscape using native species of grasses, wildflowers or other plants.
It can create habitats for pollinators and require less watering and fertilization.
The Public Information Centre runs from 5 to 8 p.m. on the third floor of City Hall.
