A new safety alert system is being installed this week at Ranney Falls, part of the Trent-Severn Waterway.
Parks Canada reports the system is being installed at Dam 10 on Trent Drive in Campbellford to warn members of the public in the event of a future release of water from the dam.
Should water suddenly be released, a horn will sound, and a strobe light will flash.
The system will also be tested this week so some residents in the area may observe flashing lights and the sound of the horn.
Roadway traffic and boat navigation will be unaffected.
