The Jazz Festival returns to Belleville for its second year from July 28 to 30.
Front Street, from Victoria Avenue to Campbell Street, will be transformed into a pedestrian promenade with a variety of jazz musicians performing. Other performers will grace the Bernice Parrott Stage behind City Hall, The Belleville Club, and the Parrott Gallery upstairs at the Belleville Public Library.
A special kickoff event will take place at the Belleville Club on June 8, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and will feature artist lineup announcements, chats with dignitaries, complimentary finger food and a cash bar. The launch event will also feature a presentation of Lifetime Achievement Awards to two local artists who have made significant contributions to jazz music: Elaine A. Small and Ryk Bezemer.
