The month of June got off to a very warm start in the Quinte region, a record-breaking one.
At around noon Thursday the mercury climbed to 30.3 degrees Celsius or around
86 degrees Fahrenheit.
That mark was just over one degree higher than the previous record temperature for a June 1
which was 29.1 degrees set 15 years ago in 2007.
Another record could be set today with forecasters calling for high temperatures of around 30 degrees.
The current record for June 2 is 28.3 set way back in 1943.
