Belleville police responded to 95 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on May 16, 2023 to 5 a.m. on May 17, 2023.
Attempted break-in
Officers were dispatched to a business on Bridge Street East shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday morning for a report of an attempted break and enter. Unknown suspects broke the rear window of the business, however, failed to get into the establishment. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police at 613-966-0882.
Shoplifter trespassed
A 39-year-old woman with no fixed address was banned from a Bell Boulevard store after she was caught stealing items, Tuesday. Police attended the store at 8:20 p.m. after store security advised she had left the location without paying for merchandise. At the request of the store, the female was charged with trespassing and released.
Hang-up of police resources
In addition to the number of calls for service police responded to, there were also fifteen 911 hang-up calls officers had to investigate.
