“Acknowledging that everybody has gifts and talents. So for me, I have written down on my piece of paper that I am passionate about working with people with intellectual disabilities.”
“We’re asking businesses if they would mind joining us for decorating their store fronts in Community Living colours which is green and blue. Maybe adding a little something about themselves, what they are passionate about.”
She says transition housing is a critical piece of what they do as well.
“Been trying to kick off an initiative called HOME, Housing Opportunities Made Equal. So we are trying to get funds for this to make affordable housing for people with intellectual disabilities. We recently just opened two transition homes in Quinte West to try and meet the immediate needs for people that who are living in hotels or homeless.”
Finally they are requesting donations for their golf tournament.
