Belleville police responded to 86 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on April 16, 2023 to 5 a.m. on April 17, 2023.
Warrant arrest
A 38-year-old man is scheduled for a bail hearing on numerous fraud charges following a brief foot chase near the downtown core Sunday evening.
Officers were on Coleman Street around 10:10 p.m. when they spotted the man, who was known to be wanted on several warrants. The male took off running when approached, however, was arrested nearby following a brief foot chase.
Shane Larmer, 38, of Belleville was arrested on warrants for two counts of failing to appear in court, breach of probation and eight counts of fraud. He was held for a bail hearing Monday.
Unlawfully in a Dwelling, Mischief, Breach of Probation
Belleville police were dispatched to a downtown apartment for a report of a break and enter around 10:25 p.m. Sunday.
Officers arrived and located a suspect inside the unit, who had caused considerable damage to the interior of the residence.
The male, a 27-year-old from the Madoc area, was arrested without incident and held for a bail hearing Monday on charges including unlawfully being in a dwelling, two counts of mischief and two counts of breach of probation.
