A partnership that has been going on for more than 40 years is larger than ever.
Belleville’s Donini Chocolate is once again teaming up with Lions International to provide chocolate bunnies for Easter.
Kimberly Bushell is the Director of Operations for Donini. She tells Quinte News they ship to dozens of clubs.
“Coast to coast in Canada. We’ve been in all provinces and down in the states. Also shipped globally at one time or another across the many years.”
Bushell says the Lions are a major partner they work with.
“It looks like we’ve probably produced over nine million bunnies for the Lions Clubs”

She says it creates great pride for the entire company.
“We are very big on supporting local. It feels good to be a part of something like this. It feels good that your product is actually reaching that extent. Our bunnies have even gone to Australia and Bermuda. So I mean that’s kind of a huge feat for a little chocolate company that’s in Belleville.”
- Lions Clubs use the monies earned from the Easter bunny campaign to support the many service projects they are involved in, such as:
- Activities and recreational assistance for all citizens
- Sight and hearing conservation programs
- Help for people who require guide and skill-trained dogs
- Speech and hearing clinics
- Financial support and advancement of eye banks
- Sponsorship of youth-oriented activities
- Community and civic improvements
- Active in supporting Scout troops
