Prince Edward County Committee of the Whole received a report on Thursday about the community economics pilot project.
The presentation outlined the research done by the presenter Audry Jamal from the University of Guelph, on how to strengthen local economies.
Audry’s presentation argued in favor of greater community voice and involvement in economic development policy.
After research and community engagement, Jamal came back with a few recommendations specifically for Prince Edward County including experimenting with new approaches and to explore new funding models.
Committee of the Whole accepted the presentation, but did not make any further referrals for action to council.
