Success for Pegasus Cheer Athletics in Kingston
On Saturday, March 4, 2023, Pegasus Cheer Athletics’
competed in Kingston at Winterfest. Five teams and two individuals competed, earning the
following placements:
● Equinox (U16 Allstar Elite Level 1, ages 12 – 16) – Second Place
● Nova (U12 Allstar Prep Level 1, ages 8 – 12) – Fifth place
● Genesis (U12 Novice, ages 8 – 12) – Excellent Performance
● Cosmos (U6 Novice, ages 4 – 6) – Outstanding Performance
● Origin (U8 Novice, ages 5 – 8) – Outstanding Performance
● Indy Bella (U16 Level 1 Cheer Abilities, ages 12 – 16) – Outstanding Performance
● Indy Grace (Open Level 1 Cheer Abilities, ages 15+) – Outstanding Performance
Held at the Leon’s Centre in Kingston by Canadian Cheer, Winterfest sees teams from across
Southeastern Ontario compete in all age divisions and levels. The event focuses on team spirit,
building confidence, and perfecting routines before larger, end-of-season events. This event
was Cosmos, Origin, and Genesis’ first event of the season.
“I was incredibly proud of the athletes that competed at Winterfest. For both of my teams, it was
their first competition and they were very excited to showcase their routine to their friends and
family,” says Arianna Provost, coach of Cosmos and Genesis. “My co-coach, Sierrah
[Hannaford], and I were overjoyed to learn that Genesis took Excellent Performance, the second
highest award they can receive in their level.”
