The Trenton Golden Hawks could justifiably believe they deserved a better fate.
Despite outshooting St. Mikes 50-30 they came away on the short end of a 6-3 game in Toronto Tuesday night.
The Buzzers rallied from an early one-goal deficit to score four goals on nine shots by the end of the first period.
That was more than enough for St. Mikes goaltender Christian Trianni who stopped 47 shots.
Ryan Holmes, David Fournier and Nathan Oikle scored for Trenton.
The G-Hawks are off until Sunday when they host Aurora.
109 shots on goal in Campbellford
In Junior C hockey the goalies were busy in Campbellford Tuesday night facing a total of 109 shots as the Napanee Raiders pulled out a 6-5 victory over the hometown Rebels.
Nicholas Goosney scored the winner at 16:44 of the third period. Christos Chronis scored twice and helped on the winner.
Uens traded to Frontenacs
Napanee’s Cal Uens will be playing a lot closer to home.
The Owen Sound Attack dealt the Quinte Red Devils graduate to the Kingston Frontenacs ahead of Tuesday’s OHL trade deadline. The 17-year-old defenceman had a goal and seven assists in 35 games with Owen Sound.
Uens is in his second season in the OHL.
