Belleville police responded to 71 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on January 2, 2023 to 5 a.m. on January 3, 2023.
Counterfeit Money – Arrest
On January 2, 2023 at approximately 4 p.m., officers were called to a gas station in the east end of Belleville regarding a counterfeit money investigation. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the employee who advised that a male currently in the store had passed a counterfeit bill in the store earlier in December of 2022. As a result of the investigation, the male was arrested. During a search of the male, more counterfeit money was located in his possession. He was identified as 43-year-old David Tucker of Hamilton, Ontario. Tucker was charged with both uttering and possession of counterfeit money and released on an undertaking with a court date in February.
