Quinte News continues to tee up the new year.
This time we chatted with the MPP for Hastings-Lennox and Addington Ric Bresee.
He says there are some big dollars and a big focus for infrastructure.
“$7.3 million coming into the riding, across all of the municipalities for the OCIF (Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund). To allow the municipalities to do the infrastructure work that they need to do.”
Bresee says another issue of concern for the new year is homelessness
“We gotta continue working on the homelessness issue. The long-term part of that is building more houses. In the short term we gotta get all the agencies together, all of the levels of government together, to make sure we can address some of the homelessness that’s going on.”
He says he is also hopeful to hear about help for the municipalities of Marmora and Lake, Centre Hastings, Madoc Township, and Tweed, who were all hit by the wind storm and tornado last year.
