The City of Belleville says it will be conducting a “comprehensive public transportation study” to look at ways to improve Belleville Transit over the next five years and beyond.
As part of the study, the city is asking the community to take part in an online survey that provides feedback for the service as it is and ways it could be improved.
The public has until January 23rd to complete the survey.
“Transit is one of the most basic needs and functions of an urban area, and it influences how cities grow and provides livability for residents,” said Joe Reid, General Manager of Transportation & Operations Services, in a press release.
“The use of transportation has been around for many years here in the city of Belleville, starting with horse and carriage and moving to the advanced system we see today. With the investments and innovations made as a community over the past year, we are seeing ridership locally grow beyond pre-COVID-19 numbers and we want to make sure we are prepared for the future.”
