The Wellington Dukes’ winning streak ends at six.
Despite outshooting Cobourg 42-19, Wellington fell 5-2 to the Cougars.
It was just their second loss in 16 games.
It was a tight game until Cobourg scored twice in the final 64 seconds.
David Campbell and Jacob Dietz scored for the Dukes who were without goaltender Ethan Morrow, forward Matheson Mason and coach Derek Smith. They’re in Cornwall attending the training camp for Team Canada East ahead of the World Junior A Hockey Challenge beginning this weekend. Smith is a member of the coaching staff.
