The Belleville Senators smashed the Laval Rocket 4 to 1 in the second of their back-to-back games with them on Saturday at CAA Arena.
The first game was on Friday, which the Rocket won 7 to 5.
Angus Crookshank, Cole Reinhardt, and Scott Sabourin scored for the Senators.
The Rocket scored first at 13 minutes in, but their lead didn’t last long. Angus Crookshank scored the Senators’ first goal of the night and started the Teddy Bear Toss, where fans began throwing donations of stuffed animals and toys onto the ice in support of the Belleville Firefighters Toy Drive. After the donated toys were collected and play resumed, Crookshank scored again in the second period. The Senators scored twice more in the third period to expand their lead and keep the Rocket from catching up.
Belleville Senators goalie Antoine Bibeau made 49 saves over the course of the game, defending the team’s commanding lead as the night went on.
Senators Head Coach Troy Mann said that Bibeau was their best player that night.
“Yeah, Bibeau was our best player tonight from certainly that second, third period. I thought the first period was certainly more of an even-played game,” said Mann.
The Senators take to the ice next on Friday, hosting the Syracuse Crunch at CAA Arena.
