Gleaners Food Bank is running a promotion to encourage more residents to donate.
The current promotion is called the Giving Tuesday Campaign. Anyone who makes a financial donation of $20 or more to the food bank has a chance to win a $100 Walmart gift card.
Donations can be made online or in person during the food bank’s office hours.
The new promotion comes because the weekend city-wide food drive in October didn’t meet expectations.
Director of Operations for Gleaners Food Bank, Susanne Quinlan, told Quinte News at the time that 5,000 pounds of food was donated to the food bank this past weekend.
That was significantly down from the 18 tonnes of food donated the last time they held a food drive in 2019.
