The Wellington Dukes scored four times in the first period to beat the St. Michaels Buzzers 7-5 and extend their winning streak to seven games.
Lucas LaPalm and Barrett Joynt scored twice in the win. Joynt has scored six goals and three assists in six games since rejoining Wellington from the BCHL.
LaPalm has 12 goals and seven assists in 18 games.
David Campbell and Edward Moskowitz had a goal and two assists each. Connor Hunt added a single.
Wellington outshot St. Mikes 42-36.
The Dukes are home to host the Collingwood Blues tonight (Friday) at Lehigh Arena.
In Trenton the Golden Hawks entertain the Caledon Admirals at the Dunc McDonald Community Gardens.
Both games are at 7:30.
Jets down Pirates
In Picton the visiting Amhserstview Jets beat the Pirates 6-2. Josh Kudo had a pair for the second place Jets.
That sets up a meeting of the top two teams in the Provincial Junior C Hockey League’s Tod Division when Amherstview plays the undefeated Napanee Raiders (14-0) at 7:30 Friday at the Strathcona Paper Centre.
