WEEKLY REPORT – Oct. 3/22
The Free Flow Petroleum U15 Devils went 5-0-0 in their pre-season play at Notre Dame University, IN.
The U15 Devils traveled to South Bend, IN this weekend to face five teams south of the border as part of the Notre Dame Shootout. Facing off against Florida Alliance, Otsirakatste Brant earned the team’s first shutout in the 3-0 win. Goals were scored by: Jacob Moore, Liam Campbell, and Jake Campbell. Friday evening’s opponent, the Washington Little Capitals, were the second team unable to light up the clock, as Cohen Bedore achieved his first shut-out of the season. Campbell, L. and Kolby Craig, scored Quinte’s two goals of the game. The Devils took charge of the showcase on day 2, sealing a 3-2 victory over Fox Motors of Michigan. Moore started the scoring with two goals, followed by Liam Grant who earned his first goal as a Quinte Red Devil, with Bedore between the pipes for the win. The Devils faced the Anaheim Ice Dogs Saturday evening. Ryan Kingham displayed his talents in red, black and white, scoring first and second goal as a Red Devil. Campbell, J. also netted two of his own, while Craig, Grant and Moore finished off the scoring in the 7-4 victory. Brant in net for the win. The final game of the weekend proved to be most high tempo as the U15s were challenged hard by Team Wisconsin in the 2-1 conquest. It was Owen Rivers and Kaden Koutroulides who put the Devils on the scoreboard as Brant held back the opposition in net.
ON DECK: Join the Free Flow Petroleum U15s for their home opener vs. Barrie Jr Colts. The puck drops at 2pm, on Saturday, at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre (Mackay Pad).

The McInroy Maines U18 Quinte Red Devils opened their 2022/23 season on the road this past weekend as they travelled to Barrie to face the Colts on Saturday and Rama on Sunday to face the North Central Predators.
Saturday would see the Devils meeting up with the Colts for their first official game of the season. It was Barrie who hit the board first in the early parts of the game while QRD poured on their offence in the second set – potting three goals before the period was over. Scoring the first goal of the season was Ben Vreugdenhil on the set up from Carter McKee and Trent Williams. In a back-and-forth rally with Barrie, it was Gage Butcher and Jared Woolley scoring the next two. Assists came from Woolley, Justin Murdoch (2) and Beau Reade. The Devils were not able to get the go-ahead goal with a scoreless third but took the point with a 3-3 tie. Glen McInnes was minding the net for the U18s in Barrie.
The Devils travelled a little further up the road to Rama to face off against the North Central Predators on Sunday. Again, it was their opponents who scored first but the Quinte team was not deterred and tied up the game in the second period with a shot from Joey Coates on the set up from Vreugdenhil. In repeat style from the previous day’s game, both teams were held off the board in the third period and it was another tie in the books for the McInroy Maines QRD team with a 1-1 final. Dean Spry covered the netminder duties for the team.
ON DECK: The U18s will be back in action with their Home Opener this upcoming week as they host the Oshawa Generals at 8:15pm @ QSWC on the FDC rink.

The E360 U14 Quinte Red Devils picked up three of a possible four points in ETA opening weekend play.
On Saturday, QRD got 10 points from the Gold Line and great goaltending from Lily Reid in 7-4 win over the Barrie Colts. Wyatt Whalen (2), Ryan Foley, Chase Cybulskie, Blake Munnings, Cole Rowat and Nate Rashotte scored for the Devils. Foley (3), Cybulskie (2), Whalen and Seth Sparks picked up assists. Devils of the Day honors went to Whalen and Reid.
On Sunday, the Red Devils dominated for long stretches of play but simply could not find the back of the net in a 1-1 tie with the North Central Predators. Henry Fisher scored unassisted for QRD and was a force all game while Charlie Vos was rock solid in goal. Devils of the Day were Ryan Foley and Henry Fisher.
ON DECK: The Devils host APR next Saturday at QSWC-Mackay Pad at 12:30pm.

Gillespie’s Tree Service QRD U13s Start the Season with a “W”
On Saturday October 1st, the Gillespie’s Tree Service QRD U13s made the trip to Clarington for a highly anticipated season opening matchup between the Red Devils and the Toros at the Garnet B. Rickard Arena. The game would start as a tight checking affair with both teams feeling each other out, the Red Devils would finally strike late in the first period as Andrew Laurin would find a seam and cut across the slot to put the puck past the Toros netminder with an assist coming from Ewan Dahle. The game would stay tightly contested with key saves from QRD goaltender Nathan Ferriss. The Devils would ultimately pull through with a character win. Final score 1-0.
ON DECK: The Gillespie’s Tree Service U13s look forward to getting back in action as they face the Barrie Jr. Colts and North Central Predators next weekend for a double header; October 8th @ Barrie Jr Colts, 5:00pm and October 9th @ North Central Predators, 1:00pm.

The Bonn Law QRD U12 Team, travelled to Oakville this weekend to play in an exhibition series with The Oakville Rangers and The Toronto Marlies.
On Saturday, The Red Devils would face the Rangers first, and found themselves in another very tight battle just like the previous matchups between these two teams. The two teams exchanged goals in the game and the score was 2-2 at the final buzzer. Lighting the lamp for the Devils, was Cameron Stevens and Jaxson Plummer. Assists in the game were awarded to Oliver McCulloch and James Gullage. Matt Travers was fantastic between the pipes in the game. McCulloch earned player of the game.
In their second game of the day, the Devils were up against The Toronto Marlboros. In an exciting, back and forth game, the Devils edged the Marlies by a final score of 3-2. Zachary Miedema, Mason Whalen, and Brody Grant were the goal scorers in the game. Chipping in with helpers on the goals; Grant, Shea Teather, Gullage, Austin Pettey, Holden Goulah and Travers. Matt Travers was solid once again in net, giving his team a chance to win, and taking home player of the game honors.
It was an early start for The Red Devils on Sunday morning, when they would face the Rangers for the second time. Once again, it was a tight battle between the two very evenly matched teams, and the final score was a familiar one. This time it was the Rangers skating away with the 3-2 win. Noah Hughes and Shea Teather lit the lamp for their team. Whalen, Gullage, Miedema and Thomas Marsden added helpers on the goals. Travers was great in net once again for his team. Player of the game; Noah Hughes.
In their 4th game of the exhibition series, the Red Devils played a fantastic game against the Marlies. The boys just could not buy a goal in this game and lost by a score of 2-1. Jaxson Plummer scored the lone goal for The Red Devils, assisted by Cameron Stevens. Matt Travers continued his awesome play between the pipes, including a big save on a penalty shot.
ON DECK: We look forward to starting our regular season, this weekend, when we host the Barrie Colts on Saturday October 8th @ 12:30 in Baltimore.

The Foley Bus Lines U10 Red Devils opened their season with a win at home in Marmora on Saturday against the Richmond Hill Coyotes.
The Red Devils opened the scoring two minutes into the game when Graydon Tucker hit the net with the lone assist going to Linden Ludolph. That was the only goal in the first period after the Richmond Hill goalie made a lot of key saves. Quinte would come out flying in the second, scoring early into the frame. Noah Gilchrist scored from Evan Andrews and Max Norton. Halfway through the second period Kash Nelson would score with an assist going to Will Beebe. One minute later Ethan Dowling lit the back net with an assist going to Ryker Thompson. The score after two periods was 4-0 for Quinte. The third period saw both teams trade goals as Andrews scored for the Red Devils with assists going to Gilchrist and Mac Brown. The final score of the game was 5-1 for Quinte. Lily Groeneveld was solid in net for Quinte and picked up the win in net. Graydon Tucker was named player of the game.
ON DECK: Next weekend the team plays their second game of the season at home in Marmora at 2pm vs. the Whitby Wildcats.
