The Frankford Huskies are set to play a PJHL hockey game at the Madoc Arena with proceeds going towards victims of the strong storms and tornados that have hit Central Hastings and the area.
“On two separate occasions, strong storms swept through central Hastings County, causing a lot of devastation. Trees, barns, and homes were heavily damaged by overbearing wind,” says Frankford Huskies Director of Operations, Frank Robinson, in a press release.
“We talked with Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison about how we could assist residents and he went to work. He contacted Centre Hastings Mayor Tom Deline and Madoc Township’s Loyde Blackburn. We decided that hosting a game at Madoc Arena an providing the proceeds of the game was the best way to do so.”
The game is set to take place on Monday, October 17.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m with the game starting at 6:50 p.m. at the Madoc Arena on Cooper Rd.
A 50/50 raffle, silent auction, and pre-game ceremony is set to take place on game night.
Tickets are $10 and available at the door only.
