Both the Wellington Dukes and Trenton Golden Hawks were winners on Day 1 of the Governor’s Showcase Tournament in Cobourg.
The event gives OJHL teams an opportunity to showcase their players to scouts from all 32 National Hockey League teams, as well as team reps from the OHL, the NCAA and Canadian Universities.
All 21 teams in the league will play two games, which count in the regular season game standings.

The Golden Hawks scored five goals in the first period and coasted to a 9-2 win over St. Michaels.
Jake Laville scored twice with two assists. Jaden Raad added a pair and Stephen McDonald scored a goal and 3 assists.
