Quinte West council is set to finalize a move to improve access to medical care in the community.
At tonight’s meeting council will be asked to approve a by-law allowing the city to buy the three-storey office building that once housed Lassing Dibben Consulting Engineers.
Mayor Jim Harrison says the city will pay $1.6 million for the building and property at 149 North Murray Street.
Harrison says the city will repurpose the building for a health centre, offering space for rent to various health care professionals.
