Giveaway Day begins on Saturday.
The day is described as an “eco-friendly community event” organized by the City of Belleville’s Green Task Force where residents can put gently used household items no longer wanted and place them at the curb for pick-up.
Accepted items are those in working condition.
This can include furniture, small appliances, books, DVDs, kitchen items, renovation material (i.e. lumber, hardware) and more.
Residents are asked to not put out items that could pose a safety hazard or that have been recalled by the manufacturer.
The following items are advised not to be given away or picked up: baby walkers, cribs, car seats, strollers, playpens, bath seats, mattresses, blinds and toys.
The event will run rain or shine.
Items should be placed on the curb starting at 8 a.m. and be brought back in by 8 p.m. on the event day.
More information on the event can be found at the Giveaway Day section of the City of Belleville’s website.
