Belleville police have charged a city man with driving, drug, and weapons charges after a vehicle collided with a pole Saturday afternoon.
When officers responded to the collision on Dundas Street East the driver took off on foot.
He was quickly arrested and police seized a large amount of cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl from him.
After a search of the vehicle police seized a replica handgun and a kevlar vest, along with drug trafficking items.
Joseph Dunkley, 35, faces the following charges.
- Fail to remain
- Drive under suspension x3
- Operation while prohibited x 2
- Obstruct peace officer
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order x4
- Transport firearm or weapon in a careless manner
- Possession of schedule 1 substance x3
- Possession of property obtained by crime.
Dunkley was held in custody following a bail hearing.
