Belleville police responded to 79 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on August 25, 2022 to 5 a.m.on August 26, 2022.
Stolen Bikes
On August 25, 2022 at 9:41 a.m., police responded to an address on Victoria Avenue in regards to a stolen bike. The bike is described as a green and grey 275 Viking mountain bike. The bike was stolen from the garage sometime overnight on August 24.
On August 25, 2022 at 12:17 p.m., police attended an address on Brimley Court in regards to a stolen bike. The bike was a CCM 29, blue and black in colour. It has a memory foam seat and a yellow and black water bottle holder. The bike was taken at approximately 5 p.m. on August 24.
Domestic Assault
On August 23, 2022 at 8:08 p.m., police responded to an address in the east end of Belleville regarding a complaint of a domestic dispute. The victim informed police that she was assaulted by her partner. The suspect had left the scene and police were unable to locate the suspect. On August 24 at 2:56 p.m., police responded to an address in the west end of Belleville for an unrelated matter. Police recognized the male they were looking for from the previous day’s domestic incident. As a result of the investigation a 30-year-old Belleville resident was arrested and charged with two counts of assault, one count of assault causing bodily harm, one count of uttering threats, one count of mischief under $5,000 and four counts of breaching a probation order. The accused was held for a bail hearing on August 26. The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
