The price has gone up, but Tweed arena will get its new cameras.
The municipal council had allocated $3,000 for arena cameras but the lowest of two quotes came in at $5,297.96.
Mayor Jo-Anne Albert tells Quinte News the money will be taken out of the arena budget.
There will be seven cameras in the arena, and additional cameras can be installed in the future.
They will be linked to a computer system as well as to the phone of the Manager of Community Development, and the phones of the supervisors.
The staff report indicates the funding, although over budget, can be allocated from the control box for the score clock as the box came in 50% lower than what was budgeted.
