There will be no acclamations in the Prince Edward County municipal election.
A couple of late filings in the County will ensure a race in each of the nine wards.
Paul Drake has filed papers to run in Sophiasburgh Ward against incumbent Bill Roberts while Ryan Kreutzwiser filed in South Marysburgh and will go against incumbent John Hirsch.
There is one seat available in each ward.
Friday at 2 p.m. is the final deadline to submit nominations for mayor, council and school board trustee candidates in this fall’s municipal election.
Municipal elections across the province are October 24.
