Hundreds of people continue on wait lists for accommodation at the two Hastings County Long Term Care Homes.
A report to the Quinte Long Term Care committee recently shows that, at the end of July, 604 people were awaiting admission to Hastings Manor in Belleville.
Meanwhile 120 people were on the wait list for Hastings-Centennial Manor in Bancroft.
Hastings Manor has had two provincial inspections, one in May and one in July.
The provincial Ministry of Health and Long Term Care completed the Infection Control Inspection Protocol which is a requirement for each time the Ministry visits Long Term Care homes.
There were no areas of non-compliance during the inspection in May of 2022.
During the inspection of July 2022, there was an area of non-compliance regarding the visual inspection of a sling prior to usage by the team members.
During both inspections the Ministry was very positive regarding the protocols the home has in place for Infection Control and the knowledge of the team members in all departments. Infection Control Coordinators are working diligently to ensure processes are in place and ongoing education is provided to team members.
In her report to the Quinte Long Term Care Committee recently, Director Debbie Rollins noted that neither home was experiencing any outbreaks and the homes were continuing to provide booster shots to all eligible residents.
Rapid antigen tests are being done twice a week for team members and visitors.
