Central Hastings OPP are warning people to be careful with their money after a local resident reported losing more than $108,000 to an online bitcoin scam.
Police are investigating after the victim revealed they sent several electronic money transfers to an online bitcoin investment company promising high returns.
The resident observed the company online several times and believed it to be reputable.
Police say you should always check with a reputable accredited financial advisor or your financial institution who can provide you with accurate information and advice.
