The province of Ontario has issued a number of orders in connection with the natural gas explosion at Lehigh Cement Plant in Picton almost a year ago.
Three people were injured in the September 7, 2021 incident, with two of them being airlifted to hospital in Toronto.
The injured workers were employees of Bayshore Industrial Contractors Ltd. which is subcontracted by the cement plant.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Labour Immigration, Training and Skills Development, Anu Dhar, tells Quinte News the ministry has issued a total of 10 orders in connection with the incident but no details are available .
Dhar says this investigation is now complete and the matter remains under review.
The spokesperson says that since the matter is under review no further update is available at this time.
Under the provincial rules, once an investigation is complete, the ministry staff review the report.
If a prosecution for violations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act is warranted, charges will be laid within one year of time of date of the alleged offence, or within one year of time of day upon which an inspector became aware of the alleged offence.
