A well-known downtown business owner will once again seek a seat on Belleville City Council.
Kathryn Brown has filed nomination papers to run in Ward 2.
Brown ran in 2018, finishing third in Ward 2 voting.
In addition to running her business, Brown is a former Chair of Belleville’s Downtown District and has served on several non-profit boards and committees.
She currently is the Chair of the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings.
Brown says as a rural resident of Thurlow and a business owner in the city centre, she believes she is well positioned to represent the diverse and different needs of the community.
She will be running against both Ward 2 incumbents, Paul Carr and Bill Sandison who already announced they are seeking re-election.
The rest of the candidate list for the City of Belleville remains the same at this time.
Incumbent Mitch Panciuk and former mayor Neil Ellis are both running for the city’s top seat.
There are 10 candidates so far in Ward 1.
Chris Mallette, Kelly McCaw, Garnet Thompson and Carol Feeney running to keep their seats.
Lisa Anne Chatten, Barbra Enright-Miller, Nick Borestski, Margaret Seu, Jeremy T. Davis and Richard T. Black have also filed papers.
The municipal election is October 24, 2022.
