A member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte is one of 20 recipients across the country to receive the RBC Indigenous Youth Scholarship.
Mitch Maracle will receive $10,000 per year for up to four years.
He graduated this spring with Bachelor of Science in geology from Acadia University and has been accepted into the school’s Master of Science geology program.
Maracle hopes to pursue a graduate degree and eventually link his research in the earth sciences to the specific needs of Indigenous peoples across Canada
