Belleville Police say a Kingston man is facing attempted murder charges following an incident involving his elderly parents.
Police were called to a central Belleville residence around 7:45 p.m. Saturday where an intoxicated male was reportedly scaring his parents.
Police arrived to find the elderly female had been seriously assaulted and discovered the elderly male being attacked by his adult son.
Officers quickly intervened and arrested a 51-year-old man, charging him with two counts each of attempted murder and utter threats, and one count of attempt choking.
The parents were taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Due to the seriousness of the assaults, the Belleville Police Service Forensic Identification Unit and Criminal Investigations Unit were called in to continue the investigation.
Police are not releasing the name of the accused to protect the identity of the victims.
