Cobourg’s Police Chief says a fatal shooting in the downtown this morning is an isolated incident.
Chief Paul VandeGraaf says police responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Division and King Streets just after 10 a.m.
A single male was rushed to Northumberland Hills Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
At a press conference this afternoon Chief VandeGraaf said the victim is associated with a downtown business.
He added there is no threat to public safety.
Northumberland OPP are leading the investigation with the support of Cobourg Police.
