Highway 401 west at Grafton was closed for a little over six hours Sunday night after a multi-vehicle collision.
Several vehicles and one transport truck were involved.
Three people were taken to hospital while a woman was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre with serious injuries.
According to Today’s Northumberland a couple involved in the collision said traffic had come to a halt on 401 west and a tractor trailer slammed into several cars from behind.
The collision occurred around 6:30.
