Quinte West OPP let the dogs out to help track a fleeing suspect.
Friday morning, police saw a pair of people on John Street with warrants for their arrest.
When the pair fled on foot, the canine unit and emergency response team were called.
The canine unit tracked one individual successfully, who was arrested. The second person was not located.
Forty-seven-year-old Adam Squires of Trenton faces charges including assault and uttering threats.
Meanwhile in the noon hour Thursday, officers spotted another man in Trenton wanted on an arrest warrant. Once again the suspect fled but after a short foot chase was caught in a Nelles Avenue backyard.
A 41-year-old Quinte West man was charged.
