Fail to remain / Assault:
On June 23, 2022 at 11:40 .am., Belleville police were called to the area of Dundas Street West for the report of a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision. After the collision, one of the involved drivers punched the other driver and fled the scene and last seen going south on Bay Bridge Road towards Prince Edward County. Erratic Driver:
On June 23, 2022 at 8:05 p.m., Belleville police were called to the area of Bell Boulevard for the report of an erratic driver cutting off other vehicles and driving across the lawn of a business. Officers located and stopped the car on Bell Boulevard. A 29-year-old female Belleville resident was charged with careless driving and driving while suspended and issued a three-day licence suspension for failing a standardized field sobriety test.
Fail to Remain:
On June 23, 2022, Belleville police were called to the area of Dundas Street West and James Street for the report of a vehicle striking a cyclist. The cyclist was not injured, but the driver failed to remain at the scene. Anyone with information about this, or with dashcam video from Dundas Street West around 9:15 p.m. is asked to contact Belleville police or Quinte Crimestoppers.
Theft:
On June 23, 2022 at 9:55 p.m., Belleville police were called to the area of Front Street for an 18-year-old male reporting that his bicycle had been stolen. A suspect broke the lock on the bike and rode away. At 12:50 a.m., an officer on patrol spotted the suspect on Front Street with the stolen bike. As a result, 32-year-old Joshua Lemche of Belleville was charged with possession of property obtained by crime and later released with a court date of July 28, 2022.
