It was a big night for a well-known Belleville businessman and community supporter Bernie Ouellet.
He was honoured by close to 300 people at the annual Guardian Angel Gala at the Grand in Belleville Saturday night.
The gala’s theme was “The Rat Pack Gala – A Swinging Affair.”
Ouellet has supported many organizations over the years, including YMCA and Rotary Loves Kids events. He has been named Businessperson of the Year and has been an Honourary Colonel at 8 Wing Trenton.
The Guardian Angel Gala raises funds for The Children’s Foundation serving Hastings, Prince Edward and Northumberland counties but final totals aren’t available yet from Saturday night’s event.
The last time the gala was held was 2020 and a record $175,000 was raised at that time.
