Belleville police responded to 141 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on June 16, 2022 to 5 a.m. on June 17, 2022.
Assault
On June 16, 2022 at 5:55 p.m., Belleville police responded to an east end residence regarding an assault. The investigation resulted in the arrest of a 39-year-old female. Virginia MacDonald of Belleville was charged with one count of assault with a weapon and released on her own recognizance. She will appear in court on July 28, 2022.
Storm Report
On June 16, 2022, Belleville police received an overwhelming number of calls and reports from the community regarding the severe storm that passed through the city beginning at 3:15 p.m. Many of the reports included live hydro wires laying across roads; houses, vehicles and trees obstructing roadways and driveways; damage to homes and vehicles, and dangerous conditions.
No fatalities or serious injuries were reported.
The combined efforts of our local emergency services, EMS, Fire, Public Works, Elexicon, Military, Hasty Ps and the Belleville Police provided much needed assistance to local residents.
