Prince Edward County is set to see big development in the coming few years.
On Tuesday, The Kaitlin Corporation announced at Karlo Estates Winery, the Cork & Vine master-planned community is being built in Wellington over the coming years.
The planned housing development will see 1,371 new homes being added over phases to the property between Belleville Street and Consecon Street, north of Loyalist Parkway. The development will have various types of housing fitting for anyone whether it is a new family, or a recent retiree says the corporation.
Krista LeClair, VP of Sales and Marketing for the Milborne Group, the company hired by The Kaitlin Corporation to sell the homes, says the first phase of the development will provide a variety of housing options.
“We’ve released 169 lots, so it’s a mixture of two-storey townhomes, three-storey townhomes, bungalow townhomes, and we also have beautiful detached homes, so … bungalows and two-storeys.”
Phase one homes will begin occupancy in July 2024 to the first quarter of 2025, says LeClair.
Bill Daniell, President of The Kaitlin Corporation Ltd., says the company has always tried to support needs in the communities they develop.
“Over the years we’ve done about 12 master-planned communities across southern Ontario. When we get established in the community, we like to stay in the community and grow in the community, and create opportunities for all the partners in the community and that’s what we do.”
Kaitlin Corporation has been active in the Wellington community since first purchasing 260 acres of land in 2006, now part of the proposed Cork & Vine development, along with purchasing the Fields of Wellington property in April 2022 which will see further development of the project.
Daniell says the company will be filing for a site-use permit for the Fields of Wellington site within the next 30 to 60 days.
Kaitlin Corporation previously financially supported the Wellington Community Centre build and has committed to supporting the creation of a sewage plant in the Wellington community.
