A Belleville man plans to give back after winning more than $11,000,000 playing the lottery.
Bernard Boucher won the LOTTO 6/49 top prize in the April 30 draw worth $11,036,139.
Coming from a farming family, Boucher called the experience humbling.
When he heard the winning jingle play on his phone, he said he thought nothing of it – a free play maybe – as he didn’t have his glasses on. “A few hours later I went back to look at it with my glasses on. When I saw the amount, I signed my ticket right away!”
The father and grandfather, shared the good news with his children. “They thought I was joking. When they realized it was real, they were happy for me – and them,” he laughed.
Boucher says he will gather some wise advisors, share with family and travel.
He says he’ll also find ways to give back.
The winning ticket was purchased at New Way Convenience on Dundas Street in Belleville.
