The city of Quinte West will rename a park amphitheatre in honour of a late and long-time councillor.
Quinte West has decided to rename the amphitheatre in Centennial Park the Bob Wannamaker Amphitheatre, after the late and former member of council Bob Wannamaker.
Following the dedication, the Wannamaker family and the Trenton Citizens Band will host a community concert at the newly dedicated amphitheatre.
Members of the public are invited to join the Wannamaker family for the afternoon event.
Wannamaker was a 40-year councillor serving Trenton and then Quinte West.
He was also a well-known local musician as part of the Trenton Citizens Band, and was a driving force behind the project that became the Centennial Park Amphitheatre.
The dedication ceremony is set for 1:30 p.m. on June 5, followed by the concert.
